Holland Tunnel Update: Police Arrest 3 Heroin Addicted Vigilantes On Mission To Rescue Kidnapped Friend In NYC

Three people were arrested Tuesday around 8 am just outside the Holland Tunnel in New Jersey after police found ballistic vests, handguns, rifles and a camouflage helmet during a vehicle search, officials told NBC4. Police believe the group is not affiliated with a terrorist group and are instead a trio of heroin junkies an a mission to save a friend that was allegedly kidnapped.

Police arrested two men in their 50s and a woman in their 30s after they conducted a vehicle search and found the cache of weapons and ballistic vests in the vehicle. They were initially stopped for a cracked windshield and are believed to be from Pennsylvania. A police officer spotted a gun magazine in the backseat during the routine traffic stop and conducted a full search of the vehicle. Other loaded magazines were found with the words “America” and “United We Stand” inscribed on them.

Drug paraphernalia was also found in the car stashed among the arsenal of weapons. Police believe all three suspects are heroin addicts. One of the suspects informed police that they were on their way to “rescue a friend who is on heroin and being held against her will.” in Queens, NY. Police are investigating the alleged kidnapping.

An investigation is underway with the Joint Terrorism Task to determine if there is any connection between the suspects and known terrorist organizations. Police are also investigating the incident as a drug-related weapons crime. The tree suspects were still in police custody and being questioned by police as of late Tuesday afternoon.
