This Poll Result Causes Paul Ryan To Begrudgingly Show Support For Donald Trump

A recent poll has confirmed that a majority of Republicans trust Donald Trump to lead the future of the Republican party over Paul Ryan. An NBC-SurveyMonkey poll released Tuesday morning shows that 58 percent of Republicans said they trust Trump more to lead the GOP, compared to the 39 percent that prefer Ryan. Surprisingly, Ryan has voiced some support for Trump and his pursuit of the Republican nomination.

The online poll surveyed 14,100 adults, including 12,507 registered voters. The results state that nearly 6 out of every 10 Republican surveyed prefers Trump over Ryan. These results come in the midst of a heated debate between Trump and Ryan over the future of the Republican party. The two share some views but disagree on other issues ranging from immigration to the future of social security.

Ryan has stated that he is content with Trump being more favorable to Republican voters because Trump will ultimately become the Republican nominee.  Ryan made the following statement during a T.V. segment aired by MSNBC.

“I hope it’s Donald Trump. He’s getting the nomination… I hope it is, because the person who’s getting the nomination of our party is the person to lead our party.”

Ryan states that the two will continue to work out there differences in the hopes of unifying the republican party. The two recently had a private meeting to discuss hot-button topics and the future of the Republican party. Ryan states the meeting was “very encouraging” which also may have led to him conceding support for Trump and his quest for the White House. Video of Ryan commenting on the meeting can be seen below:
