The Marine Raider Regiment is the principal combat component of the Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC). The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, or JMSDF, is the naval branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, tasked with the naval defense of Japan.

Recently, Marine Raiders participated in Exercise Multi Sail off the coast of Guam. Multi Sail is a five-day bilateral exercise with the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force that enhances interoperability to respond to any contingency in a timely manner. They conduct parachute interdiction operations and a visit, board, search and seizure operation. Badass combination.
