Check Out The New Guardian Angels Helicopters In The U.S. Marine Corps Fleet

April 15, 2016

Attack and utility helicopters are the backbone of the forward deployed units around the world. Seen by many as the new cavalry, attack helicopters are shaping the way combatant commanders are seeing the battlefield. And there’s no one more forward deployed than the U.S. Marine Corps; and the Viper and the Venom are their new guardian angels.

The Bell AH-1Z Viper is a twin-engine attack helicopter based on the AH-1W SuperCobra, that was developed for the United States Marine Corps. The AH-1Z features a four-blade, bearingless, composite main rotor system, uprated transmission, and a new target sighting system. The Bell UH-1Y Venom is a twin-engine, medium-sized utility helicopter, built by Bell Helicopter as part of the United States Marine Corps’ H-1 upgrade program. Both are changing the way Marines are moving forward.

Are the Viper and the Venom the best helicopter tandem in the military? Sound off and share your opinions and comments in the section below.
