Train Like You Fight And Fight Like You Train: Footage of Marines’ Desert And Urban Training

January 12, 2016

There is a saying that states that “the more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in combat”. Some attribute it, or at least a variation of it, to a a few people including a Russian general named Alexander Suvorov, Richard Marcinko, and even to the great General Patton. There is no doubt that it’s tried and true wisdom and few embodied it better than the US Marine Corps.

With current threats like the Taliban, Al-Qaeda, and ISIS coming from desert lands like the Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and the rest of the Middle East, the premier and favorite American combat “unit” has to train in the type of environment where there are more likely to engage these threats. In this video, we can see US Marines conducting a conjoint training exercise with British and Jordanian soldiers in desert and urban zone configurations.

Do you think there should be more inter-services conjoint training of American units? Share your opinions and comments in the section below!
