As a Russian rescue helicopter flew through Syria’s Latakia province looking for survivors from the Russian jet shot down by Turkish jets Tuesday morning, the unexpected happened.
As the mission was underway, the helicopter appeared to be downed by Syrian rebels who then fired an anti-tank missile at the grounded chopper.
The most concerning part however is that not only was the incident caught on camera by the rebel group but that the group was funded by the United States and the weapons used were U.S. Tow missiles.
It’s clear that Russia sees these rebel groups as terrorists and will only serve to throw the situation into more turmoil.
