Marine Vet Arrested At 9/11 Memorial For Bringing Gun

August 05, 2015

Elizabeth Anne Enderli, 31, is a Marine Corps vet who served a tour of duty in Kuwait back in 2004. She traveled up to New York City to pay her respects at the 9/11 memorial. That day, the Texas concealed-carry permit holder got ready as she normally does at home – get dressed and make sure you have your guns.

“Our husbands don’t give us a hug and a kiss, they pat us down to make sure we’re armed. We’re not allowed to go out without them.” she says.

She deviated from her normal carry on her body, by putting the 9mm and .380 caliber pistols in her backpack, as not to upset gun-shy New Yorkers.

When she got to the memorial she courteously asked the guard where she could store her firearms before she entered the hallowed ground. This act of respect landed her in handcuffs. She quickly learned that her Texas permit was useless in New York and she was held on weapons possession charges.

“This whole thing is, pardon my language, bullshit.” her friend Aimey Richardson told the New York Post.

To highlight the ridiculousness of the situation is the fact that New York concealed-carry permit holders have been recognized in Texas since 2006.

Another tourist has been busted for bringing a gun to a Big Apple landmark, this time a Texas woman treating the 9/11 memorial like an Old West saloon.

Elizabeth Anne Enderli, 31, had no idea her Texas concealed-carry permit was null in New York when she asked Ground Zero security on Saturday where she could store her 9mm and .380 caliber pistols, cops said.

The blunder cost the Marine Corps veteran and mom of three a night in jail — and prompted her Lone Star state pals to scoff at New York’s un-Texas-like gun laws.

“This whole thing is, pardon my language, bulls–t,” friend Aimey Richardson told The Post at Manhattan Criminal Court.

The two had traveled from their homes in the Houston area to New York for Richardson’s birthday.
