Man Who Climbed White House Fence Shot In Court House

The man arrested in March for climbing over a white House fence was shot today in a suburban Pennsylvania court house after slashing a police deputy with a knife.

The man’s name was Curtis Smith, aged 34, and the event took place at the Chester County Justice Center at 11:00 am EST.

The incident occurred when Curtis, upon entering the courthouse took out a knife and slashed the deputy in the hand or arm. At that point another deputy took out his gun and fired at Curtis.

He was treated at the scene but died later at the hospital.

A man arrested for climbing a White House wall earlier this year was shot and killed at a suburban Pennsylvania courthouse Tuesday after he sliced a sheriff’s deputy with a knife, the local district attorney said.

Curtis Smith, 34, is accused of entering the lobby of the Chester County Justice Center at about 11 a.m. and slashing a sheriff’s deputy on the arm or hand, Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan said in a statement.
