Starbucks Employee Attacks Veteran Amputee (Video)

February 09, 2014

Starbucks has apologized to a veteran amputee who was given a hard time by a Starbucks employee for bringing in his service dog.  The employee berated the veteran by saying “You aren’t blind” and yelling at the veteran.  The manager allowed him into the store, but still required that he pay for his drink and muffin.  The veteran has said he will not return to Starbucks even after they apologized.

Starbucks is under fire after an employee confronted an amputee veteran for bringing his service dog to the store.

Yancy Baer’s left leg was amputated in 2009 due to bone cancer. He got his service dog 14 weeks ago through Canine Companions for Independence.

Baer was in Houston, Texas, to speak about his experience with Canine Companions for Independence when he stopped into a Starbucks.

According to Baer, a Starbucks employee met him at the door and told him he couldn’t bring his dog into the store.

“He stated, you’re not blind,” Baer told KHOU 11 News. “It was in your face, loud and bold. I got really nervous. I was shaking because I was being confronted.”
