White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, recently called the attacks on our embassy in Benghazi, the IRS targeting of conservative groups and NSA spying programs, “phony scandals.” It is hard to comprehend such wildly out-of-touch and arrogant comments coming from the mouthpiece of the President of the United States, however Carney lets them go with ease.
4 brave and patriotic Americans died in defense of their country and many questions have yet to be answered regarding why our leaders ignored their pleas for help. To call this a phony scandal is an insult to every member of our military, past and present.
White House press secretary Jay Carney said the president’s speech on the economy Wednesday would be a chance for the White House to get away from “phony scandals” being pushed in Washington.
“The president will go back to Galesburg, Ill., today to deliver a speech about where we need to move the economy, what we should be focusing on here in Washington. And it shouldn’t be on the skirmishes that cause gridlock, it shouldn’t be on the phony scandals that have consumed so much attention here, all to come to naught,” Carney said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday.
