First Lady Melania Trump has announced that her communications director will become the new White House Press Secretary.

“I am pleased to announce @StephGrisham45 will be the next @PressSec & Comms Director! She has been with us since 2015 – @potus & I can think of no better person to serve the Administration & our country. Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse,” the first lady tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

The announcement comes two weeks after President Trump announced Press Secretary Sarah Sanders would be stepping down from her position at the end of the month after two and a half years.

“After [2 1/2 years], our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas,” President Trump tweeted on June 13.

“She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!” he added.

Sanders responded at the time, “I am blessed and forever grateful to @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to serve and proud of everything he’s accomplished. I love the President and my job. The most important job I’ll ever have is being a mom to my kids and it’s time for us to go home. Thank you Mr. President!”

Sanders’ last tweet was June 18 when she accompanied Trump to Orlando, Fla. where he formally announced is reelection campaign.

“Taking off on AF1 for my last trip as WH Press Secretary,” Sanders said along with a video of the president and first lady boarding Air Force One.
