Nobody could argue that a full-size, all-metal frame pistol offers incredible accuracy. There is just something about a heavier handgun that is so nice to shoot at the range. Looking through those three-dot sights, pulling to trigger and hitting the target dead on is a special feeling that seasoned shooters know well. Although many manufacturers are making lighter polymer framed handguns, there is a large full-size, all metal-framed following out there who feels that anything less just isn’t worth it.

I am fortunate to own several full-size, metal-framed pistols. Being a fan of 1911 pistols, the additional weight of steel- and aluminum-framed handguns make an average shooter feel like a competitive professional. The longer sight radius, double action/single action trigger, soft recoil and four-and-a-half-inch barrel all add up to incredibly accurate shooting.

The CZ 75 SP-01 is well-known to be an excellent and reliable pistol that is used in both law enforcement and military use throughout the world. Next to the popular 1911, the CZ 75 models are the most copied handgun in the world. There are many companies out there in the single action/double action market who make their own version of the CZ 75. They are commonly known as CZ 75 clones. CZ has a huge following of people who are dedicated fans to their smooth shooting and incredibly accurate pistols.

The Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle III (BDE III) was based on the CZ 75; however, they altered their model to mimic their ultra Magnum Research Desert Eagle. When I first shot the BDE III, I was amazed by how smooth and accurate the gun fired. Although commonly known for their full-size Desert Eagle models, Magnum Research has a full line of self defense and competition pistols that should not be overlooked. I will admit right now that Magnum Research produces some of the finest crafted firearms ever created.

The Sig Sauer P226 is also known to be one of the best handguns ever made. Also used in law enforcement as a duty sidearm, the P226 is a beautiful looking and amazing shooting pistol. I know several, well-experienced people who claim the Sig Sauer P226 is a “one of a kind” handgun. The P226 featured is an ASE (alloy stainless elite) SRT (short reset trigger) TALO model that has all of the high end features that Sig Sauer offers for their P226 models. High end?  Yeah, for sure. Accurate? You betcha.

I decided to take out three of my favorite full-size, metal framed handguns to the range for a showdown. The Sig Sauer P226, CZ 75 SP-01 and the Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle III are well-known and highly respected pistols in the firearm world. Each of these models are considered high end with a price tag over $600; however, they each also have their own following of shooters who swear their model is the finest available. Being that I own all three, I don’t have a dog in the race, but I wanted the viewers to choose which of these models they felt were the best in their respected full-size class.

Check out the video and let us know how you would rank these excellent full-size, metal frame handguns. Also, read the comments. I have intelligent followers on my channel and would love to have you join this community.
