The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations on Monday told the U.N. Security Council that it was time to impose the strongest possible sanctions against Pyongyang in light of the most recent nuclear missile test, and that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is “begging for war.”
On Monday, North Korea tested its powerful nuclear weapon yet, which caused a 6.3 earthquake and was roughly five times as large as the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima, Japan. The test came hours after North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un claimed that it now had an H-bomb to put onto its long-range intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
Nikki Haley told the Security Council during an emergency meeting that “enough is enough,” according to reports.
“We have taken an incremental approach, and despite the best of intentions, it has not worked,” Haley said.
And “the time for half measures” must end, Haley said, adding that talks have obviously not worked.
