(VIDEO) Police Pull Over Army Veteran For Surprise Pregnancy Announcement

May 09, 2017

A video of an Army veteran getting pulled over by a police officer only to give him the good news that he is going to be a father, is going viral.

The Army veteran, Jarred Wright, of Hurst, Texas was on the road with his wife, Nikki, when the two were pulled over by the police officer. Unbeknownst to Jarred, Nikki planned the whole event out and the police officer who pulled him over had a history with Wright.

Wright suffers from Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder and Major Depression Disorder resulting from his tour in Afghanistan. Last year, officer Todd Colichia responded to Wright’s call on a crisis hotline. The two spoke to one another as Colichia escorted him to a hospital.

“He and I, we were just able to connect,” Colichia told BuzzFeed News. “I guess because he and I both share service. We just by chance happened to meet up on the call and we were able to connect, and he was able to come back to us.”

Jarred was in the hospital the previous month when Nikki found out she was pregnant with their second child. After that, she planned to surprise her husband with the news.

“The reason why I stopped you is because you got a child in the car with no a child seat,” Colichia said after approaching the car window in the video.

While confused as to what Colichia meant, Nikki holds up a positive pregnancy test for her husband to look at. At the same time, Colichia points towards the pregnancy test.

“We do have a child in the car with no car seat,” Nikki said to him before revealing that the baby is due on his birthday.
