‘Daily Show’s’ Jordan Klepper To ‘Solve’ Gun Control Debate In Comedy Central Special

May 16, 2017

The Daily Show’s Jordan Klepper will be hosting a gun control special on Comedy Central in June to “solve” the gun control debate in America.

The one-hour comedy special, “Jordan Klepper Solves Guns,” will premiere June 11 at 10 p.m. EST, according to a Monday press release. The special will include documentary filmmaking, investigative journalism and comedy in an effort to solve the gun control debate and learn about the divide between gun control advocates and gun rights supporters.

“Over the course of this special, I selflessly let people on all sides of the gun debate be interviewed by me, and I was consistently surprised by how much common ground they shared,” Klepper said in the press release. “This special isn’t just about America’s relationship with guns — it’s about how needlessly toxic the debate around that issue has become. Also, doing my part to bring the country together, I show my ass on television.”

Klepper will be talking with Senator Cory Booker, former Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Bureau special agent David Chipman, former National Rifle Association (NRA) lobbyist Richard Feldman, “Midwestern moderate gun owners,” and others. He will be embedded with members of the Georgia Security Force Militia and will train with former Army Special Ops soldier Pat McNamara during the comedy special.

Klepper is currently a daily correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.” In 2015, Klepper worked on a series called “Good Guy with a Gun” to determine the “likelihood” a good guy with a gun would be able to stop a bad guy with a gun.
