7-Year-Old Organizes Law Enforcement Appreciation Gift Program In Honor Of Fallen Officers

January 09, 2017

In Beaver County, PA, Jeffrey McCarty says he never wants another police officer to be killed ever again. Jeffrey, a seven-year-old started a GoFundMe page to accept donations so he could send every department that has had an officer killed a prayer card and a St. Michael (patron saint of police) charm.

He hopes to make detective and continue to honor what he calls the most important job in the world.

At Ambridge Police Department, one of the 17 departments where Jeffrey has personally handed out cards, charms, and black-and-blue stickers, Lt. Brian Jameson says the boy’s age makes it matter more to him.

“To have a child come in and present us with something…it really means a lot,” he told local reporters.

“They are superheroes. They keep us safe,” Jeffrey said.

Jeffrey plans to continue with his good-will campaign as long as his GoFundMe donations can support it. If you would like to help Jeffrey out, you can check out his campaign link here.
