ISIS Bomb Attack Thwarted In London After Police Arrest African Asylum-Seeker

December 28, 2016

An ISIS bomb plot was thwarted after London Police arrested an asylum-seeker from the African nation of Eritrea who was planning to carry out an attack on the anniversary of 7/7/2005, the date of Britain’s worst terror attack. Munir Hassan Mohammed, 35, hoped to pay tribute to the four jihadis who detonated the bombs on the London Underground in 2005 that took the lives of 52 people and injured more than 700.

Capture

Mohammed is being charged with disseminating terrorist publications, possessing instructions on how to build an explosive device out of a cell phone, and being a member of ISIS. Mohammed was one of six people arrested in the UK on December 12.

A 32-year-old named Rowaida El Hassan appeared alongside Mohammed before the Westminster Magistrates Court and was charged with planning terrorism and possessing instructions to build explosives.

The two remain in custody and are set to appear at the Old Baily Court on January 12, 2017. The other six suspects arrested at the same time as Mohammad have been released, according to police.
