In the video, B-Batt, 2nd BN., 3rd FA, fire the Excalibur round from a M777 Howitzer cannon.
This is the Gunner’s first time shooting the expensive round in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.
The M982 Excalibur (previously XM982) is a 155 mm extended range guided artillery shell developed by Raytheon Missile System and BAE Systems AB.
It is used in close support situations within 150–75 meters of friendly troops.
