Watch As U.S. Army Soldiers Go Through Aerial Insertion & Extraction Drills

October 07, 2016

Among the many military operations that the U.S. Army has on its inventory, air assault operations are ones of vital strategic importance. These are operations on which assault forces like combat, combat support, and combat service support troops, use the firepower, mobility, and total integration of helicopter assets to engage and destroy enemy forces or to seize and hold key terrain usually behind enemy lines.

These operations are performed by what is known as aerial insertion and extractions, which could be simply understood as getting the intended forces in and out by aerial maneuvers. The importance of this is demonstrated in the fact that the U.S. Army has whole regiments whose craft is airborne maneuvers. Without doubt, these are delicate and strategically important for success. Exhilarating beyond belief as well. Just watch.
