The USS America (LHA-6) is the fourth American warship to be named for the United States of America. The ship acts as a flagship of an amphibious ready group or an expeditionary strike group carrying part of a Marine unit into battle and putting them on shore with V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft and helicopters. They are supported by F-35B Lightning II aircraft and gunships.
RIMPAC is the world’s largest international maritime warfare exercise.
