HD (FPS60): Watch A Day In The Life Of U.S. Air Force Pararescue 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron

Pararescuemen are U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command and Air Combat Command operators tasked with recovery and medical treatment of personnel in humanitarian and combat environments. These special operations units are also used to support NASA missions and have been used to recover astronauts after water landings. They are attached to other SOF teams from all branches to conduct other operations as appropriate. Of the 24 enlisted Air Force Cross recipients, 12 are Pararescuemen.

Here members of the U.S. Air Force, 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron (Bagram Airfield, AF), describe the job they do. They are ready 24/7 to drop whatever they’re doing, start up a helo and get to a comrade that needs help. Their goal is to “make your bad day not your last day.”
