During the altercation between the two, the video shows the officer and one of the gunman firing at each other. When the officer takes cover behind a white pillar, the gunman sneaks up behind the officer, hunts him down and shoots him directly in the back.

Ismael DeJesus who was in his hotel room at the time of the shooting also managed to capture video of the confrontation. He said he heard “popping sounds” and “thought it was firework,” he told CNN.

The shooter got out of a Chevy Tahoe SUV wearing what Dejesus described as tactical clothing.

“It looked like an execution, honestly,” Dejesus said. “He stood over him after he was already down and shot him three or four more times.”

“Man had a rifle, clear as day. Pretty big magazine. You can see towards the end of the video here that he goes ahead and drops a few mags” Dejesus told CNN.

“He had multiple pockets, he had three to four pockets in front of his pants. He definitely looked like he was wearing something in his shirt,” Dejesus said. “He got out of there, walked over to the pillar, put a magazine in and started firing.”
