Two F-16’s Collide Mid-Air In South Carolina: Pilots Eject Safely

Two South Carolina Air National Guard fighter jets collided mid-air Tuesday night during advanced night training in Georgia.

According to a statement from the South Carolina Air National Guard, the two pilots ejected safely before the collision in Jefferson County, Georgia. No injuries were reported.

The two pilots were taken to a Georgia hospital to be evaluated before they were returned to South Carolina.

The two jets were assigned to the 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base.

The Air Force intends to conduct a safety investigation into the collision, according to officials.

The two pilots were not identified in the crash.
