Reporter Who “Got PTSD” From Firing An AR-15: “I Proudly Choose Femininity” In Response To Critics

June 18, 2016

After the Orlando terrorist attack that killed 49 people, a New York Daily News reporter, Gersh Kuntzman, went to fire an AR-15 to see what it was like. He thought an AR-15 was the weapon used by the terrorist (it wasn’t, it was a Sig Sauer MCX carbine) so he wanted to show the world his experience and demean the gun and gun owners.

Afterwards he claimed he had PTSD. You can watch his “journalistic” video below.

“It feels like a bazooka — and sounds like a cannon,” he wrote. “The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary case of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.”

Kuntzman is now claiming to be shocked about the blowback from his article. But I bet you he’s not really shocked. He, as a “journalist”, purposefully made himself the story instead of the reporting. He chose to do this, he knew what he was doing, he knew he’d get a lot of blowback and he is just riding the wave for clicks and to build his profile.

Kuntzman isn’t conducting “journalism”, he’s brand building.

But hey – what “journalist” isn’t today? I know one. Me. Notice how you can’t see my name at the top? For us staff writers, it’s about the content and story, not me being famous.

Kuntzman is decrying the “hate mail” attacking his masculinity, his sensitivities and even goes as far as saying:

“If masculinity is defined by the power to commit violence on a wide scale, I proudly choose femininity. We need more real men in power taking on bullies like the NRA, which seeks to bolster the Second Amendment by shutting down opponents’ right to the First.”

First, he defining masculinity with killing people when it’s the exact opposite: Being prepared to defend people at all times. Maybe this is what’s wrong with America today. Men are supposed to be “men:” Strong and able to protect one’s family, one’s neighbors, one’s community and one’s nation. Somewhere along the way some “men” have given up their duty and have acquiesced to depend completely on the police and military and think that just a phone call and waiting 10-30 minutes for the police to show up will keep their wives and children safe. Or hypocritically ignoring and chastising wars fought so terrorists don’t come to America is worth turning a blind eye.

Wrong.

Being a man means educating yourself with weapons and using them to defend any threat to your families, friends and civil liberties. This is what it has meant to be a man for all of human civilization (minus the civil liberties which are new to America for the most part) and it will continue to be so.

Let’s also discuss how Kuntzman insults all women as well. Many women have taken up arms and are experts in weaponry. These women refuse to leave their protection to “men” and that’s terrific. More people who are trained, the safer we will all be.

It’s his right to choose “femininity” (whatever that means). Let’s just hope there are some men and women who aren’t scared of loud noises around to protect him when the next terrorist shows up. And we wonder when his transgender transformation will begin since he has now gone down the road of claiming femininity.

Kuntzman claims that one reader called him a “sissy” and another called him a “cupcake” and another, a “fu**ing pu$$y.”

I hope he’s ok and not having another bout of PTSD.

What an insult to our veterans and active duty service members who are actually suffering with PTSD, an insult to the history of manhood in our civilization and to journalism.

Other great quotes from Kuntzman:

“This weapon scared the crap out of me. And it should scare the crap out of all of you, too. An AR-15 is a weapon of mass destruction, a tool that should only be in the hands of our soldiers and cops.”

He ended by conceding he’s a “wimp.”

“I simpered because my experience with the AR-15 bruised me, body and spirit. But there’s nothing unmanly about reminding my readers that mass murder is much easier to commit with a semi-automatic killing machine than it is with a hammer,” he wrote. “If that makes me a girl, well, maybe we should have a girl running the country.”

I think we all know who he’s voting for.
