Sailors from the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard gather together to recite a poem at Arlington National Cemetery that honors their fallen brothers and sisters and reminds us of the sacrifice soldiers have made to protect our freedoms. They remind us that over 1 million Americans have lost their lives defending the values our country holds dear.
The video is not only emotionally charged but also informative. Several facts about Memorial day are juxtaposed with the poem read aloud by the sailors to inform the reader while reminding them Memorial Day is a somber occasion that calls for remembrance of our fallen heroes. In the final frames of the video these soldiers ask us to put aside what we’re doing at 3:00 pm on memorial day to observe a moment of silence for the men and women that gave their lives for our country.
What will you be doing at 3:00 pm on memorial day? Sound off in the comment section.
