Viewers Freak As Cat Is Eaten On “Eagle Cam”

Viewers of a live streaming “eagle cam” were left shocked after a harsh reminder that “nature isn’t always pretty,” interrupted their normally uneventful viewing of an American Bald Eagle nest. Viewers were left squirming in their seats as an adult eagle dropped a house cat off at the nest for young eagles to feast on.

A 24-hour webcam is keeping a watchful eye on eagle’s nest near Pittsburgh, PA only a few miles from the Monongahela River. It’s unclear how the cat met its demise but Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania wrote in a Facebook post:

After reviewing the footage, we believe that the cat was dead when brought to the nest.

Hopefully the statement from the Audubon Society brings some solace to cat lovers who were unfortunate enough to come across this story. Otherwise just sit back and enjoy raw nature at its best.

Video of the cat is included below. It isn’t graphic but if you are sensitive to dead animals then watch out.
