Selena Gomez Banned From China For Free Speech
The pop singer has been banned from China due to her association with the Buddhist Leader, the Dalai Lama. Selena Gomez has cancelled the part of her Revival Tour where she was set to visit both Guanzhou and Shanghai in China. The dates were set to be August 6th and 8th.
Gomez publicized her visit with the Dalai Lama on social media, exercising her right to free speech and free association.
However, as we all know, China hate free speech and free association.

Chinese authorities have prevented Gomez from entering China after she posted an Instagram picture of herself with the Dalai Lama in 2014. The Dalai Lama is not in favor of Chinese authorities and in the eye of the public after he fled Tibet back in 1959 and created the Government of Tibet in Exile while in India.
Gomez is among a number of celebrities that have been banned from China after visiting the Dalai Lama. Both Bon Jovi and Maroon 5 have been banned since publicly showing their support for the spiritual leader.
