Lifelong Gun Owner And Shooter Brad Pitt Joins Huge Anti-Gun Lobbying Group

April 27, 2016

Despite owning a gun since the age of six years old and now having a gun range on his property, Brad Pitt is joining the largest anti-gun movement and lobbing group in America, the Brady Campaign, for more gun control.

On May 4th, he will be co-chairing an event for the Brady campaign alongside Adam McKay, a comedian and actor. The event is called the “Bear” Awards, named for Jim “Bear” Brady, the former press secretary for Ronald Reagan that was shot and injured during the attempted assassination of the president back in 1981. The awards show is to honor those that have fought for gun control for a so called “safer America.”

Despicable Vietnam war protester Jane Fonda is serving on the Honorary Host Committee as well as others from the Hollywood crowd, Bryan Cranston,Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Robin Dearden, Jenna Fischer,Jason Segel, Tom Hansen, Judy Hofflund, Dustin Hoffman, Aziz Ansari and Lee Kirk.

Since Brad Pitt is very much aware of what it is like to own a firearm, he should very much be aware of what a “safer United States” would be like with more gun control. He can make these attempts by being a role model and celebrity icon for gun safety instead of gun control. Either that, or he can continue to be a hypocrite in his own movies where he is pretty much always shooting people and firing guns.

This is a drastic change in his opinion on gun control since Pitt has previously stated that “America is a country founded on guns. It’s in our DNA. It’s very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don’t feel safe, I don’t feel the house is completely safe, if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong.”
