Hamas Claims Responsibility For Jerusalem Bus Bomb Attack By 19-Year-Old Jihadi
This past week a bomb exploded on a public bus in Jerusalem, injuring 21 people. Hamas, a militant islamist terror group claims that one of its own was responsible for the attack. Hamas officials named him to be Abdel Hamid Abu Srour, a 19 year-old living at the Aida refugee camp just outside Bethlehem.
Abdel Hamid Abu Srour was the only one to have died, after succumbing to his wounds caused by the explosion. He lost both legs and was operated on, but died on Wednesday morning. One man is still in critical condition after the attack.
Abu Srour was first believed to be one of the victims of the attack, no identification was found on him and none of his relatives came to claim Abu Srour.
His father was arrested on Wednesday morning by the Israeli IDF.
Hamas is praising Abu Srour for his death and they are calling him a martyr for jihad. They are calling the attack a “natural reaction to Israeli crimes.”
It is still unclear whether Hamas was responsible for coordinating the attacks with Abu Srour or if Hamas is claiming Abu Srour to be one of their agents. A gag order has been issued by Israeli authorities and there is no confirmation that Hamas and Abu Srour are connected to one another.
