American F-15 Eagles Are On Patrol As Iceland’s Airspace Police

Iceland, a country which has no military, depends on its NATO partners to surveil and police its airspace. Icelandic Air Policing is a NATO operation conducted to patrol Iceland’s airspace. As part of NATO, the United States has committed its aircraft and aircrews to defend Iceland against potential aggressor nations.

In this video, we can see F-15 Eagles from the 104th Fighter Wing from the Massachusetts Air National Guard, activated as part of the US Air Force, conducting an Icelandic Air Policing patrol. The Eagles patrol Icelandic airspace as part of America’s commitment to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, to which both Iceland and the USA are part.
