Watch Russian ‘Blazing Sun’ Flamethrowers Missiles Roast Free Syrian Army Positions
The Syrian Civil War and the ensuing ISIS threat present on the Iraqi/Syrian border has given Vladimir Putin the opportunity to take all his toys out. The TOS-1 heavy flamethrower system, or Blazing Sun, is just another one of them.
The system is a 220mm 30-barrel multiple rocket launcher system which can fire rockets with thermobaric or incendiary warheads. It can fire up to 30 missiles in one go and is also equipped with a flamethrower that shoots a jet of fire metres into the air, with an explosion and shockwave not only significantly longer, hotter, and stronger than a conventional warhead, but it also consumes all the oxygen in the near vicinity of the targets, creating a partial vacuum. Sounds impressive enough.
