The Battle Of Do Ab: Air Force JTAC Kills Over 200 Taliban In Combat

Air Force Joint Terminal Attack Controllers are service members who direct the action of combat aircraft engaged in close air support and other offensive air operations from a forward position. On May 25, 2011, they did that and then some.

During the Battle of Do Ab in Afghanistan, Air Force JTAC members found themselves ambushed by enemy Taliban forces. With the aid of an MC-12 Liberty, these airmen killed over 200 Taliban. Here’s their story:
