October 30, 2015

A 1 year, 8 month old baby girl was shot when her family was caught in the middle of a car chase involving the Mexican military an SUV that presumably was believed to be involved in the major drug battles engulfing the region.

The shooting occurred in the border state of Tamaulipas and the little girl and her family were in town visiting family.

A military patrol was pursuing the SUV when the toddler’s family car came in the middle of the two, spooking the troops who fired on the car.

They realized their mistake only when they inspected the car.

The toddler’s wounds are considered non-life threatening.
