Germans Used American Independence Day For This?
Germans used American Independence Day for the 10th Annual “Back to the Roots” U.S. Car Festival in Beelitz, Germany.
The ordinary in an unusual place is extraordinary
A variety of American cars were present, some of which would have fit right in at an American car show in the States. Others were so completely ordinary by American stateside standards that it’s hard to believe they were really showing them off. DJ and commentator Guido Boettcher DJed country music and described the vehicles.
Though Americans were given free admission to all four days of the event, German local press claim to have found only one American.
These were all Germans, basically.
Around 11:00 PM, the Big American Cars convoy, reaching more than 10 KM (little over 6 miles long), traveled through the Beelitz area with a German police escort! It was the first time that the American squad cars and an American Fire Rescue truck helped the German police with the escort! The American police cars and other U.S. emergency vehicles had their lights and siren on during the convoy! The all the sounds and the convoy were SUPER AWESOME! There was a Fire Rescue truck in attendance with its siren and lights on. It was AWESOME to watch! Just to hear the engines of the Ford Mustang, Dodge Charger, Pontiac Trans-Am, Chevrolet Corvette, and the Chevrolet Camaro was also electrifying! Guido the commentator did an AWESOME JOB! He sure knows those American Cars!
Images shared on Facebook and show that everything was indeed completely awesome.
