Apollo 11; America’s Leap Forward
Today, we celebrate the 45th anniversary of Apollo 11’s moon landing. Apollo 11 touched down onto the lunar surface on July 20th, 1969. 6 hours laters, Neil Armstrong uttered those words that we all know.
“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Today, the headlines are full of stories about the failure of American foreign policy, and all the tragedies of the world. However, on this day, take a few minute sot watch the opening of the video, and just think about the moon landing. An AMERICAN did that. We did that. AMERICA did that. We landed a man on the moon, with less technology than we all carry around today. We beat everyone to it.
America has done some truly incredible things, and the moon landing is one of the greatest. Yes, our country is going through some rough times, and we seem to be floating away from our ideals. We’ve been here before. However, just like Neil Armstrong bouncing on the moon, we always land with our two feet firmly on the ground.
America was great. America is great. America will always be great.
