Senator Obama Helped Disarm Ukraine

The Daily News has published an article outing a policy then-Senator Obama had advocated for shortly after being elected to the US Senate.  According to the article, Obama visited Ukraine with Senator Richard Lugar and later returned to the US pushing for funding for Ukraine to disarm military capabilities.  Critics of the president are now saying that this disarmament has left Ukraine more susceptible to attack from Russia.

As a U.S. senator, Barack Obama won $48 million in federal funding to help Ukraine destroy thousands of tons of guns and ammunition – weapons which are now unavailable to the Ukrainian army as it faces down Russian President Vladimir Putin during his invasion of Crimea.

In August 2005, just seven months after his swearing-in, Obama traveled to Donetsk in Eastern Ukraine with then-Indiana Republican Senator Dick Lugar, touring a conventional weapons site.

The two met in Kiev with President Victor Yushchenko, making the case that an existing Cooperative Threat Reduction Program covering the destruction of nuclear weapons should be expanded to include artillery, small arms, anti-aircraft weapons, and conventional ammunition of all kinds.

After a stopover in London, the senators returned to Washington and declared that the U.S. should devote funds to speed up the destruction of more than 400,000 small arms, 1,000 anti-aircraft missiles, and more than 15,000 tons of ammunition.

Photographs from the trip show Obama inspecting a plant where Soviet-era artillery shells and shoulder-fired missiles were collecting dust, leftovers dumped in Ukraine after the USSR withdrew from Eastern bloc nations after the once-mighty communist nation fell apart.

A One World president first, and an American president second. He can’t defend our border with mexico, so how can he help other nations defend there borders…….

    • Carlton Amlin says:

Comrade 0 can defend our border. He just doesn’t want to. Indeed, he actively assists the invasion-occupation-takeover of the USA even during “wartime”, just as Bush did, and uses it as an excuse for massive expansion of the MIC’s “Security State” subsidiary, trampling the rights, dignity, privacy, liberty, security, and welfare of the native born American citizenry.

The notion that our borders are hard to defend is a self-serving lie. Immigration controls and borders are our most fundamental
national defenses, and the President has ample legal authority, tools,
manpower, and moral duty to faithfully execute and honor them — to halt the invasion-occupation-takeover — and reverse it.

Every President since 1960 has subverted our national defenses,
dishonoring his oath and moral duty to his fellow citizens. Eisenhower was the last President before the beginning of the ratcheting long-game of coup d’etat by government-assisted uncontrolled immigration to overwhelm the voting control of the native born citizenry and redistribute their wealth and income.

Anyone know who was President & Commander in Chief of the USA
while Senator Obama was disarming the Ukraine?
