Two women, both who lost their husbands at the hands of the Taliban were selling beautiful artisan scarfs. These three Air Force men were impressed and knew they could help.
They set up a non-profit called Flying Scarfs, aimed at selling Afghan women’s scarfs here in America. It’s been a hit! Already they have 40 women in Afghanistan making scarfs who whom they are sending all the money back to.
Their aim is to empower communities and especially women who are so often held back.
